Kota Bilo
About the Festival
History
Craft as heritage
Kota Bilo was born from the conviction that carpentry is not just a skill — it is a living thread connecting generations. It takes place at Plovdiv Stage Park, one of the most inspiring open-air venues in Bulgaria.
Over three days, masters, exhibitors, lecturers, artists, and volunteers gather to share, show, and pass on the craft to the next generation.
Masters Arena
The central stage of the festival. Here, recognized masters demonstrate their techniques before a live audience — from shaping raw timber to assembling full structures. The Arena is a space for dialogue between craftsperson and spectator.
Education Hub
A practical learning space. Workshops, lectures, and demonstrations for beginners and advanced participants alike — from children to architects. Every session is led by a practicing master.
Heritage Zone
A living archive. Exhibition of traditional tools, historic techniques, and regional carpentry styles from across Bulgaria.
